Senior Accountant - month-end close (Jackson, MS)

Summit Timber Pharma supports drug development and manufacturing around Jackson. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 166 people based in Jackson. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around quality documentation against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to batch records, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with batch records. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Jackson. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
