Senior Accountant - month-end close (Indianapolis, IN)

Bright Nest Financial provides savings, lending and payment services from Indianapolis, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 32 people based in Indianapolis. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to account servicing, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around loan applications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with account servicing. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
