Senior Accountant - month-end close (Indianapolis, IN)

Clearpath Umber Inspection Services is an inspection company in Indianapolis with field technicians and lab staff. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. Training and certification are paid for. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to test reports, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around scheduling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with test reports. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Indianapolis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
