Senior Accountant - month-end close (Honolulu, HI)

Greenridge Bridge Transit Planning plans bus and rail service for cities around Honolulu, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 314 people based in Honolulu. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to service alerts, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with service alerts. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
