Senior Accountant - month-end close (Grand Rapids, MI)

Nova Thistle Property Management is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for vendor invoices, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Maintenance and leasing staff share information every day. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around lease renewals against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to vendor invoices, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with vendor invoices.
