Senior Accountant - month-end close (Grand Rapids, MI)

Greenridge Mill Farms grows and distributes produce from farms near Grand Rapids, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. Weather sets the schedule, and we plan around it. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to seasonal crews, and clear open items. • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with seasonal crews. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Grand Rapids. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
