Senior Accountant - month-end close (Grand Rapids, MI)

Redstone Willow Staffing connects candidates and employers across the Grand Rapids region. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to timekeeping, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with timekeeping. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Grand Rapids. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
