Senior Accountant - month-end close (Grand Rapids, MI)

Amberfield Harbor Telecom builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Grand Rapids area. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 70 people based in Grand Rapids. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field visits, and clear open items. • Track costs around outage reports against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
