Senior Accountant - month-end close (Fort Worth, TX)

Ironwood Bright Water Authority Group supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Fort Worth and nearby communities. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around billing accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to water quality, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with water quality. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Fort Worth. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
