Senior Accountant - month-end close (El Paso, TX)

Nova Nest Community Partners is a El Paso charity working with residents on basic needs and opportunity, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to grant reporting, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around client intake against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with grant reporting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in El Paso, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
