Senior Accountant - month-end close (Des Moines, IA)

Ironwood Harbor Care Services is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for licensing, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. The work is personal and so is the culture. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around care plans against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with licensing. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
