Senior Accountant - month-end close (Des Moines, IA)

Nova Drift Inspection Services is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for field inspections, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 624 people based in Des Moines. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field inspections, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with field inspections. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Des Moines. • We reply to every applicant.
