Senior Accountant - month-end close (Denver, CO)

Westbrook Birch Farms supplies farm and food customers across the Denver region, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Denver. What you will do • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to seasonal crews, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with seasonal crews. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Denver. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
