Senior Accountant - month-end close (Cleveland, OH)

We are growing our team at Lumen Orchard Farms and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. Weather sets the schedule, and we plan around it. What you will do • Track costs around harvest schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Cleveland. • We reply to every applicant.
