Senior Accountant - month-end close (Cleveland, OH)

Foxglove Stone Transit Planning helps transport agencies around Cleveland design routes and schedules. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Cleveland. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around route schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fare systems, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with fare systems. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Cleveland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
