Senior Accountant - month-end close (Cleveland, OH)

Summit Cobalt Construction Partners builds commercial and industrial projects around Cleveland, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. We build things that last and we are honest about schedules. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to safety records, and clear open items. • Track costs around change orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with safety records. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Cleveland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
