Senior Accountant - month-end close (Cincinnati, OH)

Summit Field Medical designs and makes medical devices in Cincinnati, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. Engineers and clinicians sit at the same table. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to complaint handling, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with complaint handling. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Cincinnati, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
