Senior Accountant - month-end close (Cincinnati, OH)

Northwind Ember Early Learning Group operates neighbourhood childcare around Cincinnati, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. Low staff turnover is a goal we take seriously. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to classroom supplies, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with classroom supplies. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
