Senior Accountant - month-end close (Buffalo, NY)

Greenridge Sable Financial Group provides savings, lending and payment services from Buffalo. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 784 people based in Buffalo. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to vendor spend, and clear open items. • Track costs around payment disputes against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with vendor spend. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Buffalo. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
