Senior Accountant - month-end close (Boston, MA)

Greenridge Meridian Banking Services Group is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for account openings, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to account openings, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around deposit accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with account openings. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Boston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
