Senior Accountant - month-end close (Boise, ID)

Amberfield Fox Insurance is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for catastrophe response, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We care about how people feel on the worst day of their year. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to catastrophe response, and clear open items. • Track costs around premium billing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with catastrophe response. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Boise. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
