Senior Accountant - month-end close (Boise, ID)

Fernwood Kestrel Markets is a Boise retailer with stores, a distribution centre and online ordering. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Boise. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to pricing, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Boise, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
