Senior Accountant - month-end close (Austin, TX)

We are growing our team at Ironwood Pike Press Group and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to proofing, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around press runs against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with proofing. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Austin, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
