Senior Accountant - month-end close (Austin, TX)

Amberfield Meadow Financial is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for regulatory reports, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 119 people based in Austin. What you will do • Track costs around account servicing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory reports, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with regulatory reports.
