Senior Accountant - month-end close (Austin, TX)

Rivermark Haven Learning Group operates schools and learning programmes around Austin. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 144 people based in Austin. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around student accounts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with attendance records. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Austin, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
