Senior Accountant - month-end close (Austin, TX)

We are growing our team at Cedar Cross Facilities and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Austin. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around customer sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to cleaning schedules, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Austin. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
