Senior Accountant - month-end close (Austin, TX)

Amberfield Thistle Medical builds devices used by hospitals and clinics, with its team based in Austin, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 50 people based in Austin. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to training materials, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with training materials. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Austin, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
