Senior Accountant - month-end close (Austin, TX)

Ironwood Corner Housing Group manages affordable housing communities across Austin. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 947 people based in Austin. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to waiting lists, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around resident services against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with waiting lists. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in Austin. • We reply to every applicant.
