Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Savannah, GA)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Ember Water Authority and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 729 people based in Savannah. What you will do • Track costs around capital projects against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Savannah. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
