Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Savannah, GA)

Highbridge Fern Farms is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for seasonal crews, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 97 people based in Savannah. What you will do • Track costs around grower contracts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to seasonal crews, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
