Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (San Jose, CA)

Ironwood Vale Press is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for press runs, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 182 people based in San Jose. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to press runs, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with press runs. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in San Jose. • We reply to every applicant.
