Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (San Jose, CA)

Highbridge Vale Medical designs and makes medical devices in San Jose. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory submissions, and clear open items. • Track costs around production lots against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with regulatory submissions. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in San Jose. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
