Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (San Diego, CA)

Redstone Cedar Civic Services supports public agencies in San Diego with budgeting, records and programmes, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to case files, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with case files. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in San Diego. • We reply to every applicant.
