Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Richmond, VA)

Redstone Nest Manufacturing Group is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for tooling, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Many of our supervisors started on the floor. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to tooling, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Richmond, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
