Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (Reno, NV)

Summit Pine Community Partners is a Reno charity working with residents on basic needs and opportunity. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around volunteer shifts against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with client intake. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Reno, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
