Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Bluepeak Summit Manufacturing manufactures parts and assemblies at its Phoenix plant. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. Many of our supervisors started on the floor. What you will do • Track costs around machine downtime against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with production lines. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Phoenix. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
