Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Highbridge Quarry Environmental Services serves homes and businesses with collection and disposal in Miami, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 49 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around landfill records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with weigh tickets. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Miami. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
