Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Harborlight Forge Energy Partners is an energy provider in Jackson focused on reliable service and fair billing, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 862 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter readings, and clear open items. • Track costs around usage data against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with meter readings. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Jackson. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
