Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Bright Drift Inspection Services is an inspection company in Austin with field technicians and lab staff, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 605 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client sites, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with client sites. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Austin. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
