Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Westbrook Keystone Arts Center Group is a cultural organisation in Memphis presenting exhibitions and performances, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. Evenings and weekends are part of the job. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to volunteer programmes, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around ticketing against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with volunteer programmes. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Memphis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
