Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Silverline Oak Telecom provides broadband and phone service around Kansas City. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. We invest in training. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around field visits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with network equipment. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Kansas City. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
