Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Westbrook Lakeside Telecom is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for billing accounts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We invest in training. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with billing accounts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Grand Rapids. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
