Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Northwind Orchard Environmental Services is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for recycling loads, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Early starts and steady work; we look after our drivers. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to recycling loads, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with recycling loads. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Seattle. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
