Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Fernwood Granite Markets is a Tucson retailer with stores, a distribution centre and online ordering, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 30 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to pricing, and clear open items. • Track costs around promotions against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with pricing.
