Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Highbridge Wren Energy supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Seattle. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would join a large organisation of about 656 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around service connections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with hardship programmes. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Seattle. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
