Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Summit Oak Environmental Services is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for fleet maintenance, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 309 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around service complaints against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fleet maintenance, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with fleet maintenance. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Seattle. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
