Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

We are growing our team at Northwind Yarrow Inspection Services and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around test reports against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with scheduling. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Nashville. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
