Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Bright Lakeside Freight Partners is a Kansas City logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our grant and fund accounting. You would join a small organisation of about 14 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around customer tracking against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with dock schedules. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Kansas City. • We reply to every applicant.
