Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Rivermark Umber Facilities is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on grant and fund accounting for work orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Clear communication between supervisors and crews matters. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to work orders, and clear open items. • Track costs around contractor visits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with work orders. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Kansas City. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
