Senior Accountant - grant and fund accounting (remote)

Bright Vista Construction delivers building projects for owners across the Kansas City region. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on grant and fund accounting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around permits against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to safety records, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with safety records. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Kansas City. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
